Where are all the spirited souls

Soil wet,

With blood of sacrifice,

Young lives,

Spirited souls,

A dream that became the Cause,

The Cause that became the reason for life

And oddly so, for death as well.

Yet, no mother cried,

No daughter wept,

Sacrifice was theirs as well.

As sons vanished,

Fathers perished,

A dream that became the cause,

The cause that became the reason for life and death as well.

The seedling of freedom,

Sown in the soil drenched in blood.

Wise men said,

‘At the stroke of the midnight hour,

When the world sleeps,

We will wake to life and freedom.’

Midnight’s children,

And the generations there on.

Sacrifices forgotten,

The cause rendered meaningless,

Still sons vanish,

Fathers perish,

But Mothers cry,

Daughters weep,

The Dream that went in vain,

Why this bloody rain..

Freedom …

The shrub that never bloomed,

All that remains is the thorn

Where are all the spirited souls?

here i am not sure...

what is patriotism? am i restricting myself to a piece of land when the universe (or many?)is (are) mine?

is it worth loosing one's life for a piece of land? is the land mine in first place...

i am here today but not forever. so my association with this land is till my life spans... hence, is it worth shortening already small life for a not longlasting relationship?

is this piece of land an absolute truth? if it is not is it worth loosing my life for something which is not the truht? if it is, then should i go away from it by loosing my life????

i am not sure... i am not sure about loosing my life for patriotism...

however, it is worth loosing my life if i am not free... it is worth fighting for my freedom... if i am not free, i would rather not live that life...

To achieve the feeling of care and consideration for all that is in the universe, man, woman, animals and plants, nature, all that is living and non-living, is ultimate.
The perfect harmony. The ultimate truth ?!!!

But won’t we be stretching the limits of 'if' a lill too much by thinking that this is possible...

In this maddening world that is today,
One should start that journey to the ultimate truth, the perfect harmony, from some here.

Let it be with a feeling of brotherhood for those who comprise your immediate vicinity... and can we call that feeling ' patriotism'

It need not necessarily be the ' loosing ones life for a piece of land....'

Wish it was a strong patriotic outrage in India, blinding the media hungry individuals of their very being. Its a big materialistic world...hard to configure!

Amazing Poem :o)

I happened to come across this wonderful though just today...its beautifully written. I guess these feelings are there in the mind and heart of most of the people who care and feel for others, and also the lazybones like me who are not making the right contribution to life around us! :(
